According to VOM Worship Band Leader Mr Greg Vali, the church through The Salvation Army’s Communications Department, had written to Meat Haus in Waigani seeking support for an upcoming Gala Dinner which is set for the 13th of August next month.

Mr Vali said Meat Haus responded to the request letter by offering their shopfront space for the team to host bbqs for the next four weekends with all funds raised from the bbq going towards supporting the church’s fundraising efforts.

“In 2020, we hosted a major fundraiser to purchase our new church vehicle which has helped us greatly in carrying out our ministry work in our church and also within our community.”

“This year, we have decided to host another major fundraiser but this time, to help us purchase new musical instruments for our church.”

“It is for this reason that we have written out to business houses as well as private individuals seeking support in any way to make our Gala Dinner a success and we are so thankful to Meat Haus for responding in such a great way by allowing us to do our bbq fundraisers,” Mr Vali said.

Presiding Pastor of The Salvation Army Hohola Church, Major Billy George said that the church is passionate for Jesus in seeing transformation in their community.

As such, the musical instruments purchased from the proceeds of the fundraiser will go a long way in making sure that the church continues to carry out its ministry work within the community and that they continue to minister the Gospel of Christ to all mankind.

The VOM Worship band is currently preparing for the Gala Dinner which will be held on the 13th of August at The Roy Bungay Memorial Hall in Boroko and so the team has been working around the clock doing bbq fundraisers, selling of tshirts as well as dinner tickets in preparation for the Gala Dinner.

Mr Vali added that they have engaged a few gospel bands in the likes of Incense Gospel Band, Zamah Band as well as Betty Tamanabae who will be the guest musicians for the night.

For tickets to the Gala Dinner or to support in any way, the team can be reached on their Facebook page Salvos Hohola Church or contacted directly on telephone numbers 71855476, 73700075 or 75585958.
