As weeks count down for the country’s biggest fashion runway in September, designers, models and creative artists are gearing up for yet another grand show at PNG Fashion Week’s 2022 NGCB Paradise Runway.
PNG Fashion Week confirms that the show will be bigger and better with 12 designers already confirmed for the Runway which will take place on the 17th of September at Hilton Port Moresby, the home of PNG Fashion Week.
Ms Philma Kelegai, Director of PNG Fashion Week said the models and their coaches have been working very hard to make sure each walk (pattern) is perfected before the big night in September.
“This year, we have 12 designers and so this means we will have 12 different patterns that the models will have to master before the big night.”
Each model is required to learn the 12 different patterns and so the onus is now on them to make sure that they learn as much as they can so that they can then be assigned to a designer,” Ms Kelegai said.
There are 52 models taking part in the NGCB sponsored Paradise Runway with 40 of them walking the main runway while 12 will be TID Models who will be modelling the Traditionally Inspired Designs.
“This year, we will have a mix of male and female TID models and so that is now a challenge for the designers to take on and work towards getting their Traditionally Inspired Designs ready for both male and female,” Ms Kelegai added.
With less than three weeks to go before the Runway, the pressure is on to make sure each individual person on the team prepares well to deliver a stellar runway come September.
Tickets for the NGCB Paradise Runway are now on sale at the Hilton Hotel Port Moresby and also at the Miss PNG shop on Level 2, Vision City.
