As part of preparations leading up to the Mr & Miss Madang Pageant, team Divine Word University is hosting a gospel concert in efforts to raise funds for charity to help support the Creative Self Help Centre for Disable Staff Accommodation building in Madang.
The main objective of the concert is to feature the University’s raw talents and also to encourage the community in Madang to be a part of the community service that DWU has been contributing to over the years through such opportunities and platforms.
The idea was initiated by the reigning Mr & Miss DWU after identifying the need to have a different approach towards hosting a fundraiser and that was to put up a gospel concert.
“As young leaders we want to encourage and influence our fellow colleagues in the University in a positive way and this is the best way to inspire our friends and to share the light of Christ to all,” said Miss DWU 2022, Kappa Gaoma.
“Aside from students and fellowship groups existing in the campus to perform, we’ve also extended an invitation to the churches in Madang to come help support us on the event.”
“We hope to get many people involved through this fundraiser as funds raised will go towards a worthy cause,” Miss Gaoma added.
Tickets for the Royal Melody Concert are going on sale for K5 only and the concert will be held at the SVDMA this Sunday 22nd of August..
The crowning for the 2022 Mr & Miss Madang Pageant is set to take place at the Madang Resort Hotel on the 27th of August.
