Even the rain of Morobe could not hold off a relentless Petroleum Resource Kutubu Mendi Muruks to lay their hands on the minor-premiership title in front of a packed Lae League crowd on Sunday afternoon.

The Muruks defeated a high-spirited PRK Gulf Isou 26-18 to claim the 2022 minor-premiership title, sending an early warning to the rest of the competition that they are leaders on the table for a reason.

The game between last year’s grandfinalist, Lae Snax Tigers and JPG Waghi Tumbe, was called off due to unknown reasons but it is understood that the 2021 premiership winners, Tigers, will get the two points and move up to 4th place on the ladder.

Teams making the final top six are; 1. PRK Mendi Muruks, 2. Agmark Rabaul Gurias, 3. Kroton Hela Wigmen, 4. Lae Snax Tigers, 5. CPG Dabaris, and 6. EPG Enga Mioks.
